You're close. We're planning on releasing super pre alpha (SPA) versions soon, which you guys can play, for free, and follow while we develop it. The updates will occur very frequently, as often as our spare time permits. We're still doing work for hire as we always have, and we're still working on games in the background as we always have, but rather than keep these "in development" games to ourselves where no one will ever see them, we're opting to release them as SPA versions and let people play them, offer feedback, suggestions, and a look inside our development process. That's basically what we did for Whizzle, except this will be something you can actually play with other people, though there won't be a shiny UI to get you connected to other people.
That means they will be very early art, if there is art at all, buggy code, incomplete features, missing features, lack of polish, and generally unbalanced and unfinished gameplay, because it's still heavily in development. It will be fun, and playable, but not finished, or polished, or bug free. We're not really looking for bug reports, but if someone wants to manage a bug list, we can certainly keep tabs on it while we're working on it.
At a later point, the games may become pay to play, but we haven't really decided anything for that just yet. This is all experimental, and something we're trying out, and if it works, we'll keep going, if not, then on to something new!
