Σε πολλές ταινίες εποχής έχουμε δει διάφορους χαρακτήρες να εχουν ενα μεταλλικο πλατύ φλασκί με ποτό (hip flask). Συνήθως το έχουν κρυμμένο (οι γυναίκες κάτω απο τη φούστα, στερεωμένο στην καλτσοδέτα), κοιτανε δεξια και αριστερα πριν πιουν μια γουλια, και πινουν με ανακούφιση σαν να είναι το μαγικο φίλτρο του Αστερίξ. Καμιά φορά οταν ειναι και αλλος εκει κοντα, το κανουν πάσα με ενα ενοχο, συνωμοτικό ύφος.

Απο μικρός είχα δυσκολευτεί να καταλάβω τί ήταν. Επειδη σε καποιες ατακες ειχαν πει οτι ειναι "φαρμακο" νομιζα οτι οντως ηταν καποιο φαρμακο που εδινε δυναμη (Lucozade της εποχης) Και σημερα ομως δυσκολευομαι να καταλαβω γιατί ενα φλασκί αλκοόλ παρουσιάζεται σαν "μοδα" και κρυμμένο. Η μονη υποθεση που κανω ειναι οτι εκεινη την εποχη το αλκοολ θεωρουταν τοσο πολυτελεια όσο και ντροπη. Επισης υποθετω οτι οι συγκεκριμενοι χαρακτηρες ηταν αλκοολικοί, που για καποιο λογο εκδηλωναν ετσι τον αλκοολισμο τους εκεινη την εποχη.

Επιπλεον αυτο το φαινομενο μου φαινεται παραξενο επειδη αν το τοποθετήσουμε σημερα που πχ το αλκοολ δεν σπανιζει, δεν βλεπω κανεναν να κουβαλάει μαζί του κρασί σε θερμός ή παγούρι ή να εχει ενα κουτακι μπυρα απο το περιπτερο και να ρουφάει. (Αυτο βεβαια ισχυει σημερα για τον καφέ, ο οποιος εχει τα αντιθετα αποτελεσματα με το αλκοολ)
