Καποιοι τρελο-αμερικανοι πιτσιρικαδες καθοντουσαν απο το 1982 ως το 1988 και ηχογραφουσαν ηχους απο arcade games αλλα και απο arcade μαγαζια!

Πραγματικα δινουν ενα στιγμα του τοτε.

In November of 1982 my best friend had a Sony TCS-310 Stereo Cassette Recorder. Audio cassette tape was the affordable recording medium at the time and one wintery day while on our way to the arcade 'Just Fun' in Ithaca, NY, we came up with the idea to record video game sounds in the arcades.
We recorded our video game experiences from 1982 until 1988 in a variety of locations on the east coast. Most of the recordings come from Ithaca, NY, Albany, NY and Ocean City, MD. Other locations include Lancaster, PA, Falmouth, MA, Rehoboth Beach, DE and Key West, FL.

Luckily I stored all fourteen audio tapes in a safe place and rediscovered them when I moved the rest of my stuff out of my parents house in 1997. In the last several years I digitized these nostalgic recordings to preserve and share them.

Experience the magic and the wonder of the early years of coin-op video games. Hear the classic arcade ambience like you haven't heard it in over a quarter of a century! The blend of several video games being played simultaneously, the kids yelling and the quarters clanking. We will never hear such beautiful chaos quite the same way again....

Το άφησα να παίζει στο background ενώ έκανα άλλα πράγματα στο PC! Πραγματικά με "ταξίδεψε"...

Και μια και λέμε για ταξίδια, το ποδαράκι μου το έχω πατήσει και εγώ στο Ocean City, Maryland καθώς ο θείος μου μένει στην Βαλτιμόρη και με είχε πάει και εκεί. Ποιός ξέρει, μπορεί και να είχα μπει και στο ίδιο arcade...θυμάμαι πάντως σίγουρα ότι είχε στο αυτοκίνητο του μια θήκη με quarters και τα έκλεβα ασύστολα για να παίξω στα arcades!

Wally: αν είχε κάτσει κάτι αντίστοιχο εδώ, μάλλον η ηχογράφηση θα ήταν αυστηρώς ακατάλληλη για ανηλίκους με το μπινελίκι που έπεφτε στα ουφάδικα τότε.

Βέβαια και η ξένη ηχογράφηση έχει κάμποσα "s**t", αλλά αν ήταν Ελληνική θα είχαμε την ευκαιρία να εκπαιδευτούμε και στα Θρησκευτικά.

Καψιμοοοοοοοοοο! Κατι παρομοιο ειχα κανει κι εγω μικρος ηχογραφοντας επιδοσεις μου στο Donkey Kong Country για SNES παρεα με τον μικρο μου αδερφο και τον ξαδερφο μου.

Ηχοι απο Arcades!!

Tην πιο δυνατη αναμνηση απο τα arcades την εχουμε απο τους ηχους που ακουγαμε στο περιβαλλον.

Μπλιπ μπλιπ σε συνδυασμο με φωνες απο παιχτες.

Αυτο ακριβως εκαναν σε τεσσερεις χρονικες περιοδους.

Καλο κατεβασμα.

Here we have 1981, an arcade packed with Asteroids, Astroblaster, Berzerk, Centipede, Crazy Climber, Crushroller, Defender, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Galaga, Galaxian, Gorf, Missile Command, Moon Cresta, Mousetrap, Ms Pacman, Omegarace, Pacman, Phoenix, Qix, Rally X, Scramble, Space Invaders, Spectar, Tempest, Venture and Wizard Of Wor.

In 1983's soundtrack, an arcade only two years later, you find a completely different mix of sounds from Bagman, Bump n Jump, Burgertime, Congo Bongo, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong 3, Donkey Kong Jr, Elevator Action, Food Fight, Galaga, Gyruss, Joust, Jungle Hunt, Kangaroo, Mappy, Mario Bros, Millipede, Moon Patrol, Mr Do, Ms Pacman, Pengo, Pleiads, Pole Position, QBert, Robotron, Sinistar, Stargate, Star Trek, Tapper, Time Pilot, Track & Field, Tron, Xevious, Zaxxon, Zoo Keeper.

The 1986 arcade features the following games: Arkanoid, Bank Panic, Bubble Bobble, Commando, Excite Bike, Flicky, Galaga 3 (Gaplus), Galaga, Gauntlet, Ghosts N Goblins, Gunsmoke, Hat Trick, Hogan's Alley, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Jail Break, Kid Niki, Mag Max, Marble Madness, Ms Pacman, Pacland, Paperboy, Punch Out, Rampage, Road Fighter, Russian Attack, Sky Kid, Spelunker, Super Sprint, Star Wars, Tiger Heli, Time Pilot 84 and Two Tigers.

And finally, the fourth track comes from 1992, smack dab in the middle of my time spent managing the arcade at Marley Station mall in Maryland. A time when Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat and Neo Geo were king and when pinball machines like Elivira were packed away in the back corners of most arcades.
