Editing CD Information

You can now edit CD information. You can manually change information such as the track name or album name.

1. Select the icon of the audio CD or track that you want to edit information for, and then press the Δ button.
   
2. Select [information] from the options menu.
   
3. Select the item that you want to edit, press the Χ button, and then enter the information.

Notes

• You can also send modified information to the All Media Guide company if CD information that was automatically obtained by the PS3™ system is not correct. Select the icon of the audio CD, press the Δ button, and then select [send CD Information] from the options menu.
  
• All Media Guide is a company that provides a CD information database. Information that is sent from the PS3™ system is useful for increasing the accuracy of All Media Guide’s CD information database.
  
• You cannot change or send CD information for Super Audio CDs.

Photo

Using the new slideshow feature

A new display pattern has been added for slideshows under (Photo).

When you select a folder or image and press the START button, the slideshow will begin. Press the Δ button during a slideshow to display the control panel, and then select [Photo Album 2] under (Slideshow Style).

Using zoom display

You can now use zoom display for images under (Photo).

Press the Δ button while an image is displayed to display the control panel, and then select (Zoom In) or

(Zoom Out). You can use the left stick of the SIXAXIS™ wireless controller to scroll in any direction and use the right stick to zoom in or out.

Trimming images

You can now trim images under (Photo).

Press the Δ button while an image is displayed to display the control panel, and then select (Trimming). Press the Χ button again to begin the trimming process.

You can use the left and right sticks of the SIXAXIS™ wireless controller to select the range you want to retain. Use the left stick to scroll in any direction and use the right stick to zoom in or out. When you have selected the portion of the image that you want to keep, press the Χ button. The trimmed image is saved using a different name.

Note

• Only images saved on the PS3™ system’s hard disk can be trimmed.

Game

Moving copy-prohibited data

You can now move copy-prohibited saved data for PlayStation® format software and PlayStation®2 format software to a PS3™ system.

Select the saved data, press the

button, and then select [Move] from the options menu. The saved data is moved to the PS3™ system's hard disk. The data that was moved is deleted from the memory card or

memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2).

Notes

• Saved data that was moved can also be moved back to the memory card or memory card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2).
  
• A memory card adaptor (sold separately) is required to move the saved data.

Network

Revisions to the options menu for Download Management

The options menu items under (Download Management) have been changed.

Options menu items

Pause All Pause downloading of all data.

Resume All Resume downloading of all data.

Status Display the status of data that is being downloaded in the background.

Pause / Resume Pause or resume downloading of selected data items. Cancel Cancel downloading of selected data items.

Friends

Displaying a photo during voice / video chat

[Display Photo] has been added to the voice / video chat options menu.

During voice / video chat, you can display an image under (Photo) instead of the camera image or an avatar. Press the Δ button during a chat to display the options menu, and then select [Display Photo].

Όσο για τα παιχνίδια, που θα πάνε θα έρθουν και αυτά.

Φυσικά ΔΕΝ το αγγίζω αν δεν περάσει σε 0,65 μicron τεχνολογία κατασκευής επεξεργαστή. Α, όλα κι όλα, είμαι cooling freak, δεν πα νά χει του Θεού τα καλά, αν ζεσταίνεται, ΔΕΝ είναι για μένα.

PS3 Engineers on Firmware Future

"PS3 software engineers, SCE chief technology officer Kawanishi and AV manager Kanehide, have been discussing the future of firmware updates. The duo feel thereʼs still room to upscale visual and audio quality by 30 to 40 percent and can foresee a fanless PS3.

ImageKawanishi and Kanehide stated in an AV Watch interview that future firmware updates will allow for greater audio and visual upscaling without increasing fan noise. They also hinted that a fanless PS3 may be available at a later date.

“We have gotten feedback from them (critics) regarding several failure patters for upconverting, but we are getting closer to the goal. I think we can improve another 30 to 40%,” said Kawanishi.

"So far, we are not worried too much since we have plenty of processing power left even at peak usage," added Kanehide.

"Nothing yet comes close to the load that Folding@Home applies. And I can see the possibility of a fan-less PS3 in the future, just like there was for the PS2," Kawanishi went on.

Kawanishi then commented that remote play was now possible if developers wanted to make it a part of their offerings.

"There are SDKs out to allow game developers to integrate remote play into their games, so it is a matter of time before such games arrive."

The duo also said that the future of firmware upgrades was in part dependent on what consumers wanted as the PS3 had the capibility to develop in numerous areas as time went by according to what people wanted to use it for.

“Sony produced many products, and I could forsee the PS3 becoming a "mother ship" to all the equipment,” said Kawanishi when contemplating the positioning of PS3 as a music or Blu-ray player.

"The scary thing about the PS3 is that we can continue to add updates as long as there is space on the HDD," he added. "We won't stop though, since adding new functionality is a lot of fun. We really enjoy getting feedback from the customers, and finding things we really hadn't thought of."

Δηλαδη αν τιγκαρει ο δισκος με τα updates δεν θα εχει αλλα δωρακια.

Firmware update 2.10

Tα updates ερχονται το ενα μετα το αλλο και εκει που λεει η sony να τα μειωσει γιατι το εχει παρακανει μετα το ξανασκεφτεται και λεει αφου εχω κατι το καλο γιατι να περιμενουν και δεν τους το δινω.

Λοιπον update 2.10 φτασαμε και τα πιο βασικα χαρ. ειναι Blu-ray profile 1.1 και υποστηριξη Divx και xvid.

Σας προλαβε το 360 ετοιμαζονται να γραψουν καποιοι ,ισως για καποιες μερες αλλα .....

Το ps3 σου δινει την δυνατοτητα εκτος απο το να αναπαραγεις τις xvid ταινιες σου απο εξωτερικο σκληρο (same as 360) να περασεις τις ταινιες και στον σκληρο του ps3 (not like 360) ετσι ωστε να εχεις το δικο σου προσωπικο jukebox-ταινιοθηκη-videoclub-dvdαδικο κατω απο την τηλεοραση σου.

Tωρα να μπορουσα να συνδεσω και το εξωτερικο hd-dvd του 360 πανω του θα μιλαγαμε για μηχανημα απο αλλον πλανητη.

Nεο update firmware με ονομα 2.17.

Ακουστηκαν σκορπιες λεξεις του στυλ "ps2 games" ,"compatible", "install", "on Ps3 HDD" και κατι αλλα ,που οδηγησαν πολλους στο συμπερασμα οτι θα μπορουμε να σωζουμε κανοντας install τα ps2 παιχνιδια μας στον σκληρο του Ps3 και θα μπορουμε να τα παιζουμε απο εκει ,χωρις το δισκακι.

Μην τρεξετε ακομα στα dvdαδικα για να ενοικιασετε ps2 games μιας και το Update εγινε με σκοπο να υπαρξει συμβατοτητα στα Ps2 παιχνιδια που χρειαζονταν τον σκληρο του Ps2 για να παιξουν,παραδειγμα το "final fantasy XVII".

The Blu-ray 2.0 spec (or BD-LIVE) is just days from launch. Sony just announced that the next PlayStation3 firmware updated -- v2.20 -- will add the new interactive features to your PS3. As such, PS3 owners should expect downloadable video content, ringtones, interactive movie-based games, and the always intriguing "more" when the software is released in "late March." In other words, in the next 11 days. The update will also allow you to copy photos and music playlists over USB from your PS3 to your PSP. The rest of the new features after the break.
-- "Resume play" will enable PS3 system to start playing a Blu-ray disc

and DVD at the point it was stopped, even if the disc had been

removed.(*1)

-- "Audio Output Device" will be a new Remote Play setting, enabling PSP

to serve as a remote control for music played through PS3.

-- PS3 system's Internet browser will be enhanced: Video files directly

linked from a Web page will be able to be streamed, and the browser's

view speed will be improved.

-- DivX and WMV format videos that are larger than 2GB will be playable.

-- "Mosquito Noise Reduction" will be added as an AV setting in the

control panel of the DVD/BD player for improved movie playback.(*2)

*1 BD-J format disc is not supported.

Το πρωτο το τριτο και ιδιως το τεταρτο ειναι τα καλυτερα, αντε και στο επομενο "υποτιτλους" ή ισως και σε αυτο.

Ενας λογος που μπορω να φανταστω ειναι οτι απο την στιγμη που μια εταιρια προσθεσει στις δυνατοτητες της κονσολας την ενσωματωση υποτιτλων ,ειναι σαν να υποστηριζει την "θεαση πειρατικων ταινιων".

Δεν νομιζω να θελει κανεις υποτιτλους για να δει "home video" τις καλοκαιρινες του διακοπες.

Τα κακα με τις κονσολες ειναι τα εξης

1)ΧΒΟΧ 1 παιζει τα παντα ΠΛΗΝ τα HD περιεχομενου.Kαι οπως λεει ο Manos 'Once u go HD,u cannot go back'

2)Τα PS3/360 δεν υποστηριζουν υποτιτλους και δεν υποστηριζουν ΠΛΗΡΩΣ (παρα μονο εν μερει) το matroska απο το οποιο "βρωμαει" το τοπος...

Δυστυχως δεν διαθετω XBOX1 με το 1440 Celeron hack για να ξερω αν τα καταφερνει με τα HD...

PS3 2.20 update to offer portable copy of Blu-ray films to PSP?

If PCWorld is correct, then it looks like Sony's pending, PS3 2.20 firmware will have at least one little surprise for movie buffs. As if the inclusion of Blu-ray's BD-LIVE interactivity and the removal of the 2GB DivX and WMV file-size cap wasn't enough, PCWorld says that can also expect the introduction of portable copy. With it, users will be able to copy a PSP formatted (and DRM'd) version of the film directly to their PSP -- no UMD required. Right, just like we saw demonstrated live back at CES in January.
