JagCf
What is JagCF ?
JagCF is a card which let you connect Compact Flash cards to your Atari Jagaur console. Its aim is to provide developers and gamers new sensations and possibilities for the future of gaming on Jaguar.
And what can it do ?
* CDs and carts replacement :
JagCF connects directly to the cart plug of the Jaguar (or CD drive) and act as an interface for any CF without further modifications of your console.
* Advantages of CF cards :
Higher transfert speed : up to 17Mb/s* (probably even more with new models coming)
Copy protection**
High capacity : up to 8Gb (probably even more with new models coming
Ability to save games directly on it.
* Integrated SDRAM :
8Mb of SDRAM will ease data pre-loading, or could be use as complementary ram, or to completely replace Alpine and Flash cards.
* High speed serial port :
Giving the ability to connect a Catnip Cable.
Or connect your JagCF to a computer for fast data transfert.
* Two PS/2 ports :
Mouse and keyboard, as simple as that.
* A network interface :
Engineered especially to allow a hundred console be plugged together with a theorical bandwith of 1Mb/s.
* Audio streaming :
As the JagCD, JagCF is able to provide CD quality audio (or even better) streaming without compromising the main transfert bus ability.
* A complete dev. kit :
With to help of already involved developpers, a complete development kit with documentation and libraries will be given with the JagCF.
* Update ability :
JagCF could be updated to enhance its abilities.
These updates will be done with the Catnip (of course, software and firmware updates will be free)
* : 50 times JagCD speed !
** : a game on a protected CF could only be read and run by a JagCF.
