ReadTheir sources claim that the Blu-ray Disc drive will cost Microsoft between $95 and $100 -- much higher than the $18 to $20 DVD drives already found in the Xbox 360. Microsoft is of course, expected to sell its new Blu-ray rig at a loss as is customary in the console market. Sony may then be forced to lower the cost of the PS3 and/or retaliate by increasing Lite-On's cost for the Blu-ray components (like the BD-ROM pick-up heads) purchased from Sony. Whatever the result, the competion would be nothing but good news for consumers of HD media...
The sequel to the Xbox 360 underwater exclusive might also make its way to both PS3 and Wii, suggests a vague job posting by 2K Marin.
The 2K Marin job listing, published to Gamasutra, seeks a "Senior BioShock 2 Designer" with five years of experience across "PlayStation 3, Xbox, and Wii" platforms.
More convincing evidence in the case of at least a PS3 version of BioShock 2 is found under job qualifications: "PlayStation 3 experience is required."
2K Marin was formed in 2007 by ex-BioShock staffers to create both original and follow-up games. In March, Take-Two Interactive confirmed BioShock 2 for release in fall 2009 for still unspecified systems.

After MTV News broke the news on Microsoft designing a Nintendo Wii-like Wiimote for the Xbox 360, 8bitjoystick felt it was time to give up their secrets as well. Not only do they confirm that the project exists, but they can give up the codename for it: Newton. Jesus was kind enough to mock up a version of the controller based on MTV's sketch.Jake also says that Microsoft has recently licensed patents from Gyration, maker of those gesture mice we all know and don't really care about. Nintendo did the same back in 2001 in order to help develop their own Wiimote.
The 360mote will also receive signal from an LED sensor bar (like the Wii), but one-ups the Wiimote by having a microphone on board for Xbox Live chat. He doesn't have many other solid points of data—there are guesses about it using the standard rechargeable battery pack and what colors it will have—but he does think the target date of late '08 looks very likely.
Δειτε και τρειλερακιApril 17, 2008 - It may have taken a little while longer than the rest of the pack, but Epic Games' other franchise is on its way to Xbox 360 soon. A release date hasn't yet been announced, but you can be sure that the extra time is going to good use. The Xbox 360 release will contain five new exclusive maps those other platforms didn't get, two new characters and will include two player splitscreen action. All that and it also sports all of the downloadable content that Epic has created for the PS3 and PC.

There has never been anything quite like it in the genre.
In fact, in the hands of a skilled player NGII looks nothing less than exhilarating, and occasionally surpasses any martial arts movie you might care to name.
These are all worth mentioning, but they don’t significantly affect the joy of the combat.
It’s worth reiterating that, even at preview stage, the action at the core of NGII stands up to the best in the genre.
Coming to us via Joystiq and beginning life over at the Quartermann rumors section of 1up, the latest incarnation of the rumor holds that Rare is a working on Killer Instinct 3D: Death! Destruction! Doom! in addition to Banjo and Viva. There are other details in the Quartermann article, but they don't matter much, considering that the source of his rumor seems to be a poster hung on the wall of Rare HQ (pictured above) which actually uses old Killer Instinct art, basically proving that Rare put it there to mess with us. Besides, what kind of subtitle is Death! Destruction! Doom! anyway? That's sillier than what MDK supposedly stands for!
So what have we learned? Quartermann's rumors are often suspect, Rare has a strange (but awesome) sense of humor in messing with the press, and we quite likely won't ever, EVER, see Killer Instinct 3.
