Feature Film Slate Update: Marvel today updated its feature film slate strategy and plans for the next three years, locking in key release windows for its character franchises. In order to focus its attention on maximizing the success of an Iron Man sequel and the launch of Thor in the summer of 2010 and because Marvel believes that the summer is the optimal time to launch a new property, the Company will not release a self produced film in 2009. Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate with the release of the sequel, Iron Man 2, on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of Thor on June 4, 2010. Additionally, Marvel is planting its feature film stakes for summer 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer - a two-picture project which will debut on May 6, 2011 with The First Avenger: Captain America (working title), followed by The Avengers in July 2011.

Marvel's Chairman, Morton Handel, commented, "Adjusting for the strong year-ago contribution from the Spider-Man JV, Marvel's Q1 2008 operating results continued to demonstrate strong global demand for consumer products based on the Company's portfolio of characters. Marvel's self-produced feature film slate launched this past weekend with a performance that firmly establishes Iron Man as a major new film franchise, and the Company eagerly awaits the June premiere of The Incredible Hulk, Marvel's second self-produced film. In addition, Marvel has been investing in other important areas of growth such as the Internet where, to lead the Company's newly formed Global Digital Media Group, Marvel recently announced the hiring of Ira Rubenstein. Marvel has a strong foundation to build from, and the Company is adding infrastructure to maximize these opportunities."

Today at Maker Faire 2008, MacGyver creator (and real life inspiration) Lee David Zlotoff announced he has a big budget MacGyver movie in the planning stages.Zlotoff mentioned he somehow ended up with the movie rights years ago (extremely uncommon), giving him full control over the film. While few specifics were mentioned, and no formal announcement has been made, its extremely promising that the man with the power to make the film is getting the ball rolling. The question is...do you bring back Richard Dean Anderson as old MacGyver, or bring in a younger, Christian Bale-type to reprise the role of makeshift gadget god?

BioShock Movie to be Made by Universal

Και ναι η κορυφαία παιχνιδάρα του 2007 (και βάλε) γυρίζεται ταινία !!!

Το μόνο σίγουρο είναι ότι θα απογοητευτώ.

Το παιχνίδι παραείναι καλό και θα περιμένω πολλά από την ταινία .

Gore Verbinski, director of Disneyʼs Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, is slated to direct and produce the film. John Logan, Academy Award-nominated writer of Gladiator, The Aviator and Sweeney Todd, is currently in talks to write BioShockʼs screenplay.

Αυτα ειναι τα παιδια που εφτιαξαν το Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, μια εξαιρετικη παρωδια του Star Trek (με ολιγον απο Babylon 5), κατι φινλανδοι τρελλαμενοι Trekkies. Η ταινια αυτη δινεται απο το σαιτ του ελευθερα, και ειναι εξαιρετικη. Οποτε αξιζει παρα παρα πολυ το κατεβασμα και η υποστηριξη.

MGM Plans to Remake 'Robocop' and 'Red Dawn'

THR is reporting that MGM has remakes of Robocop and Red Dawn in the works. Studio chiefs Harry Sloan and Mary Parent must have simply stood up at Cannes and said out loud: "MGM is remaking Robocop and Red Dawn" before vanishing into a hotel or something. So in lieu of additional information regarding cast and crew, I'll just fill a second paragraph with some ranting.
First off, you're never going to improve on Paul Verhoeven's Robocop, which is just about the most spot-on, no-bullsh!t action satire you'll ever see. Unless MGM wants to hire someone like David Fincher or Brad Anderson, I don't have a very good vibe on a Robo-remake. And Red Dawn? Well ... obviously you'd have to update the villains, wouldn't you? Viewed through a socio-political spectrum, John Milius' Red Dawn might be one of the most "outdated" action movies at the video store. Plus, as cool as it looks on screen, the concept of paratroopers invading America is pretty damn hilarious.

Κατα την ταπεινή μου άποψη το 2ο robocop ψιλο καλό ήταν. Αν τώρα το καινούργιο είναι σαν τα υπόλοιπα που ακολούθησαν, τότε δεν θα πάρουμε.

'Beverly Hills Cop 4'

Variety announced that, inspired by the success of Indiana Jones IV, Paramount has green-lit a fourth installment of Beverley Hills Cop. Eddie Murphy will return to play Axel Foley. Brett Ratner will direct. (I hear the cries of "doom!" from the Internet.) The movie is set to begin filming next year, with a 2010 release.
Murphy's actually the brainchild behind the idea -- and with the way his public image has fallen, it's no wonder he would love a return to the role that made him a megastar. Now we know what he was doing over the holiday weekend! Watching everything from Lethal Weapon 4 to Crystal Skull, saying "I could do that ... again!"
