-Multiplayer co-op for 3 players. Different story than single player. Zones/actions in the map requiered for 2/3 players. Mini bosses in each section. Players will revive after a few seconds (less if the other players help to revive)
-Deathmatch. 4vs4 you can choose two skills. And you need to explore like in Uncharted 1 to find the strongest weapons.
-Capture the treasure, is like CTF. 4vs4 trying to steal treasures from the enemy base.

Eurogamer (100/100): "Whether or not the multiplayer sticks, however, is arguably a footnote, because at the core of Uncharted 2 is an action-adventure masterpiece whose minor flaws are washed away on a tide of rhythm and spectacle -- one that would still be an essential experience even without the option to pull your friends off cliffs and play capture-the-heirloom."
GamePro (100/100): "The A.I. is a little suspect, the camera can be stubborn, and you will die your fair share of cheap deaths. But it's still a fantastic effort and Naughty Dog deserves full credit for building upon the momentum of the first installment. PS3 owners should definitely experience it, especially if they liked the original."
1UP (A+): "Uncharted 2 is simply a vast improvement over its predecessor, and it's a damn great PS3 game. Let's leave the "are games art?" question for another time; what Uncharted 2 proves is that games are, at the very least, craft. Just as Raiders is Spielberg at the top of his game, Uncharted 2 is Naughty Dog at the top of theirs, and further proof that they are masters of their craft."
IGN (95/100): "It's very, very good. It's easily one of the best games on the system, blending fantastic presentation and visuals with gameplay that is practically second to none. And then there's the stellar multiplayer which you'll probably be playing until Uncharted 3 ships. No, Uncharted 2 is not perfect, but it's closer than pretty much any other game out there these days."
Videogamer (90/100): "Uncharted 2 does so many things right, that its problems (a less than perfect cover system, some frustrating combat and unfortunate glitches) are easy to overlook. The single-player adventure packs in so many incredible moments that you'll be talking about it with friends for months, the multiplayer functionality is superb and rammed with content, and the whole game looks beyond anything you'll have seen before."
Uncharted 2 Pushes PS3 to Limits
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves continues to be a run away hit for Sony and Naughty Dog. In an interview with Game Trailers, Amy Hennig comments on many aspects of what makes the game so unique, notably the processing power and storage of the PS3.
Along with revamping the games engine and the graphics engine the Blu-ray storage was one of the crucial factors allowing the game to have such a large scale. The storage capability (presumably a BD-25) allowed the designers to include more data than would have been possible otherwise (even though she states that with all that space it was still a challenge).
One of the key aspects however is the processing power of the PS3. Amy stated that initially the SPUʼs inside their respective SPEʼs were running about 30% capacity. This was due to more working being done by the PPE (and possibly the RSX) and less by the SPUʼs.
Now however more work is being done by the SPUʼs themselves which are primarily designed for heavy number crunching but can process other types of data as well (which is inline with tip1 for Cell/BE best practices) and the percentage of usage has been “maxed out” which is assumed to be 100% (although she didnʼt actually state a hard number). This allows the PPE to focus on rich backgrounds, other processing elements and to route data to the SPEʼs.
No mention of the RSX was made at all, so I am curious as how that is being integrated in to the programming model, maybe at some point I can interview Amy and ask her some questions about that. Click on the image below which will take you to the interview. To hear her tech related comments, fast forward to about 3:46.
Itʼs safe to say we are looking possibly at our first second generation PS3 title. As more and more developers become familiar with the Cell BE we can expect more good things on the PS3 console in the future. Having played the multiplayer demo, the sheer number of things happening on the screen at any given time and the level of detail associated with them is quite impressive.
