A Rare Look at Rare [1UP]Speaking with 1UP, Rare's Mark Betteridge was asked about the chances of us seeing more Rare games on Xbox Live Arcade now that the original Banjo Kazooie is up for download. Surprisingly/fortunately, Betteridge did not beat around the bush:
Sure! It's something that we've been looking at. It's all about building a platform where we can do that stuff without impacting the newer things here. It would be great if we could get Killer Instinct coin-op on there.
Within the New Xbox Experience are some new tools available to publishers. One is this new "store" mode allowing for games which have an event occuring to advertise it. The one currently up is for Street Fighter II HD Remix - which also spills the games' release date.
Street Fighter II HD Remix will be available on the Xbox Live Arcade on the 26th of November, and we can assume it will be available for the PlayStation Network on the 27th.
The week after will also include a new Street Fighter II styled deck for UNO on XBLA, and at some point in the future PAIN will be adding several Street Fighter characters to their selection of downloadable content to play as.
In the manner of a modern day fable on par with The Little Engine That Could or Rocky, Microsoft has just announced that sales of the Xbox 360 have outraced total sales of the original Xbox, a mere two days after the 360's third birthday on November 22.Microsoft has won a race with itself, and in doing so has given us all hope. To put this in perspective, a total of 25 million original Xboxes were sold during its lifecycle of November 2001 - May, 2005 (roughly three and a half years).

Xbox LIVE 'Friendship is Free' programMicrosoft has launched a month-long Friendship is Free program, that will unlock multiplayer functionality in eight Xbox Live Arcade games so Silver members can get a taste of what they've been missing.
They've chosen a pretty nice cross-section of games for the promotion as well, unlocking the multiplayer for more casual titles like Hardwood Hearts, Hardwood Spades, and Uno, as well as some of the games that appeal more to core gamers, like A Kingdom for Keflings, Aegis Wing, Small Arms and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.
Can't see it having too much impact outside of the casual sector, as most of the more advanced players have already gone for the gold by now.
Kaι για PSN εννοειται.Sega has officially announced that it is bringing Outrun Arcade Online to Xbox Live Arcade. The game is being developed by Sumo Digital, the team responsible for the recent Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast (on which Outrun Arcade Online appears to be based). It will be enhanced to include high definition graphics and will feature online play for up to six players. Outrun Arcade Online includes 10 different Ferrari cars and 15 different tracks on which to race them. And, of course, it wouldn't be Outrun without the music ... and the hot girl in the passenger seat. The game is expected to drop in early 2009. Check out the first screens in the gallery below and the debut trailer after the break.
NeoGAFIf there's one thing Sega excels at, it's releasing the same Sega Genesis games on every platform imaginable. Rich arcade history? What's that?! Saturn? Dreamcast? Never heard of 'em! Here, try these Genesis ports!
Sega's got a slew of rehashes lined up for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, if recent ESRB ratings are right. And they usually are. Comix Zone, Streets of Rage 2, Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star II, Gunstar Heroes, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Golden Axe, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 have all been giving the go-ahead by the ratings board.
Yep, some of those already exist as Xbox Live Arcade games, but some are new. Why would Sega ready more individual releases when they've got the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection coming down the pike? The answer is simply "Sega."
