…Γιατί έπρεπε να πεθάνει ένας άνθρωπος για να προσέξουμε αυτά που λέει;
Επείδή τέτοιες ώρες, η συγκίνηση είναι μεγάλη, απλά θα αρκεστώ στο να μεταφέρω μερικά λόγια...
[From the memorial service held for Michael…]
He gave us all he had been given.
But we do know we had him, and we are the world.
Queen Latifah
He raised the bar, and then broke the bar.
Music entertainment entered a new sphere.
Michael had an incredible knowingness about him.
You could feel the happiness in his soul, because that's what he loved to do.
The minute he did his iconic moonwalk I was shocked. It was magic.
Michael went into orbit and never came down.
At 10 years old he had passion, to be the greatest entertainer in the world, and he was determined to work as hard. He loved everything and everybody, especially his fans.
He mastered a “take no prisoners” showman. In fact, even as I think of Michael, I think the “king of pop” is not enough for him. I think he was the greatest entertainer that ever lived.
Berry Gordy, Motown Founder
I love you and I have told you many times that I love you, so I am at peace with that.
This is a moment that I wish I didn't live to see come.
Stevie Wonder
Michael made the Guinness book record for most charities supported by a pop star.
Kobe Bryant
This is a celebration of his life, his legacy.
Magic Johnson
(Regarding people's grief) You will have to understand the journey of Michael Jackson to understand all of us.
He never gave up that dream. But because Michael Jackson kept going, because he refused to accept limitations, he refused to accept any boundaries,…he opened up the whole world. He created a comfort level (with his music)…(And after that) People found nothing strange watching Oprah,…(and today) These 40-year olds who had found a comfort level in his music, found nothing strange voting for the first African-American President of the US…Some people like to dig up mess. It's not about mess. It's about love message. I want to tell to his three children: There was nothing strange with your dad. It was strange what he had to deal with. But he dealt it with anyway. He dealt it with for us. Thank you Michael.
Rev. Al Sharpton
Michael was one of a kind. Both of us needed to be adults very early. But when we were together, we were two kids having fun….But what we did do was laugh. Michael loved to laugh. His heart would burst out of him, when he laughed. And his laugh was the sweetest and purest of anyone I have ever known. He loved to be teased. He was caring and funny, honest and pure, unjaded, a lover of life. Michael's sensitivity was more extraordinary than his talent. Michael saw everything with his heart. His favourite song was “Smile” by Charlie Chaplin.
Brooke Shields
'For it isn't by size you win or fail. It is by being the best of what you are.'
Here lived a great entertainer, who did his job best.
Martin Luther King III, son of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
(In the sky) Far above the noise of life…
Bernice A. King, daughter of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
We understand the constitution, and we know that people are innocent, until proven otherwise.
What a miraculous experience to be able to listen and see Michael in action (helping raise awareness about Aids HIV).
Michael fought for the tolerance of all people. He fought a good fight. Michael never stopped giving.
Sheila Jackson Lee, Congresswoman
I wanted to see the kid that was singing that song (“Who's loving you”) so well. I wanted to check his birth certificate. 'Cause you have to have feeling, soul and know, You have to have a lot of know to sing a song like that.
William “Smokey” Robinson
For you Michael…
